No matter how hard I try, the holidays always sneak up on me and catch me completely unprepared. This year was no different.
Max and I frantically searched the bodega for our old holiday decorations. They hold a lot of memories of our catering days when we had no personal time. This year, we decorated two small potted palms on the terraza and admired our work sharing a toast of brandy.
“Sylvia, dear,” Max said, as we clicked snifters, “a job well done! Not just this holiday, but all the holidays before. I salute us!”
“Here, here,” I said, “and to the holidays yet to come!”
I reached for my sketchpad and painted an angel I share with you.
From Max and me, we wish you the best of seasons and joy for the New Year!
