Two years ago I started sharing my journal dancing all the way! I’ve had a ball. Thanks to my readers and subscribers for encouraging me to continue.
Here are some congratulatory emails from my friends:
Two years ago I started sharing my journal dancing all the way!
From Myrna, Max’s sister:
Dear Favorite Sister-in-Law!
I’m lounging here at the spa with a thick, green, non-alcoholic drink beside me, hair in a terry cloth turban, waiting for my mud wrap. Thought of you and realized it was the second anniversary of www.sylviasaltwater.com Congratulations! To celebrate, Otto and I are sending you a gift certificate for a hot wax depilatory peel. Enjoy!
Air kisses! Myrna
From Mr. Francis, gallery owner where I had my show:
“Sylvia – Well ……… What can I say? I suppooooooose congratulations are in order. Besides writing in your journal, have you been producing any artwork?????? If so ………. I maaaaaay be able to make time to see it. I’ll squeeze a few of your pieces in if there’s space in the gallery’s busy schedule, …… IF there’s space.
Too, too kind, Mr. Francis.
From JoJo Three Fingers:
Sylvia, Doll! I got it right here on my calendar – “Sylvia’s second anniversary.” I sure enjoy reading about all your friends every week. Makes me laugh. In my business there ain’t no laughs. You make me feel good and I appreciate somebody who makes me feel good. ……. Tell you what I’m gonna do to show my respect. I recently got access to a warehouse full of liquor. Don’t ask how. I’m gonna send you a case of mixed bottles of hard liquor. No cheap stuff – the real thing. These all got labels and screw tops. And remember, if anybody looks at you funny, let me know! JoJo will fix it– guaranteed!
Your Friend, JoJo
From Etienne who now works for his mother in her pharmaceutical company:
My Dearest Friend Sylvia,
Here I am on the company jet flying to Japan for negotiations. Busy, busy, busy! One thing’s for sure. I’m learning a lot about the working world. Anyway …….. I’m sending my congratulations for the second year of writing your journal. And I’ll shop for an appropriate gift in Tokyo! Meanwhile, thanks for being a dear and true friend who’s always on my side.
Sending lots of xoxoxoxo – Etienne
From Aunt Daisy:
Back on my porch in my little Florida bungalow and happy of it! New York City was fun and gettin’ to know Jasmine, my cousin, but nothin’ beats puttin’ your feet up on your own swing and listenin’ to the cicadas chirpin’ away. – Congratulations on two years of writin’ in your journal and sharin’ with us! I know how dedicated you are when you put your mind to somethin’! I love readin’ about your quirky friends and Ah- ha! moments. I’m gonna send you the “Home Country Breakfast Package” from the food company that’s makin’ my recipes. It includes a variety pack of six jars of my jams “Jammin’ with Grandma Daisy”, a package of buttermilk biscuit mix, a package of slab bacon and a deluxe box of chocolate chip cookies. Hope you and Max have a good time at breakfast! —– Don’t let any burrs get stuck under your saddle!
Love, Aunt Daisy
Sweet thought! I looked down at my thighs and sighed.
Dear Sylvia – Can’t believe I almost missed your anniversary. Just looked at my calendar. Time is rushing by and Sky and I keep sailing the seas. Promise to send you a treat once we reach port!
Love you tons! Xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Rico, owner of Olympus beauty salon and my hairdresser:
Dearest Sylvia! Hugs, hugs, hugs!!!!! You must be simply exhausted from all that writing!!! I adore reading your journal every week and as a “thank you” I’m gifting you with a Shiatsu massage AND a dye touch-up! Be sure to make an appointment soon!
Love you, Rico
I shut my computer off and called the salon immediately and made an appointment for the afternoon when a free glass of wine is included.
Feeling good and looking great after the appointment, I went home. Nothing from Cutlass and Bobo? Could they have forgotten?
Max came out of the kitchen wearing a striped apron and a big grin.
“Dinner will be ready in an hour. Enough time for a soak in the tub and a power nap but get set for a champagne evening!”
Max’s suggestion sounded irresistible so I did just that. When I got up, I dressed in my best caftan ready for a quiet evening with Max. When I got to the pool, there were Cutlass and Bobo. They had brought me a huge bouquet of Birds of Paradise.
Bobo said hugging me, “For you, Sylvia dear! A rare and beautiful bird in paradise! Congratulations on your anniversary!”
“I second the motion!” Cutlass said.
It was a special evening. Max had carved vegetables to look like a typewriter. We all had too much champagne and loads of laughs. Air kisses all around. It was a great beginning to the third year of Sylvia’s Journal!
